EDA 2019 Celebrating the best in diversity and inclusion across Europe
Heather Mills, Jameela Jamil and Richard Arnold were amongst those honoured this year along with companies such as HSBC, Thomson Reuters and TSB
The European Diversity Awards 2019, sponsored by Heathrow Airport, took place at The Landmark London on Thursday 14 November. It was a huge celebration of those who have stood out in their support of all areas of diversity and inclusion over the past year.
The event gave out awards in 17 categories spanning the wide range of excellence in diversity from individual role models and icons, to large companies who put diversity at the core of everything they do. Whether it’s through their campaigning, their marketing or their social mobility initiatives, The European Diversity Awards 2019 shone a light on all that is good in diversity and inclusion across Europe.
Actress Sophie Ward hosted the fantastic event and the packed award ceremony included famous faces and huge names within the corporate world. People from all backgrounds joined together to celebrate the fact that what makes us different, is what makes us achieve a better and more inclusive place for everyone.
Awards were given to the faces and companies who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to furthering diversity and inclusion.
This year each category also presented its very own highly commended award for those whom the judges felt deserved their own special recognition at the event.
A series of major awards were up for grabs including Campaigner of the Year, Social Mobility Initiative of the Year, Diversity Team of the Year, Charity of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year and Media Icon of the Year
The winners included Siena Castellon, MS Amlin, BBC’s The 50:50 Project, Royal College of Psychiatrists, Manchester United’s Hatred campaign and Jameela Jamil.
To round off the night a special Services to Diversity Award was delivered to activist Heather Mills, who has dedicated the majority of her life to furthering diversity in the media.
